Screenshots for Your Store Page
Your store page shows your screenshots in a carousel under its header, and search results show the first three under your game. Screenshots can be PNG images or MP4 videos, and Arcadible picks them up by name from .arcadible/gallery/: there's nothing to list or configure.

├── screenshot_02_phone.mp4 # phones, in place of screenshot_02.mp4
├── screenshot_03.png
└── screenshot_04_phone.png # phones only
Phones see screenshot_01.png, screenshot_02_phone.mp4, screenshot_03.png, and screenshot_04_phone.png. Everyone else sees screenshot_01.png, screenshot_02.mp4, and screenshot_03.png.
Number them in order
- Name each one
screenshot_<number>, with a lowercase.pngor.mp4, such asscreenshot_01.pngorscreenshot_02.mp4. Only files named this way appear in the carousel, ordered by number. - Give each number one screenshot, padded or not:
screenshot_2comes beforescreenshot_10, andscreenshot_1andscreenshot_01are the same number, so use one or the other. - Put your best three first. Search results show the first three.
- Start a video on a good frame. It's shown by its first frame until it's opened, so make that frame read well as a still.
- Keep description media out of the carousel by giving it another name, such as
boss_fight.png. A screenshot embedded in the description is shown in both places.
Specify a platform
A screenshot's name can end in a platform, as in screenshot_02_phone.mp4. Without one, a screenshot is shown on every platform. The platforms are desktop, phone, and tv, matched against the viewer's device. A tablet is a phone when its browser says it's a mobile device, and a desktop when it doesn't, as an iPad's Safari doesn't.
- Each number shows one screenshot: the one for the viewer's platform if there is one, and the plain one otherwise. On phones,
screenshot_02_phone.mp4takesscreenshot_02.mp4's place. - A number with only a platform's screenshot, such as
screenshot_04_phone.png, is shown on that platform alone, in its place by number. - A screenshot for another platform is never shown, so desktops and TVs never see the
_phoneones. - Take phone screenshots on a phone, in the game's orientation, for the ones that look wrong there, and give anything only phones have, such as touch controls, a number of its own.
Next steps
- Check the names:
arc validatewarns about a file named almost like a screenshot, such asScreenshot_01.png, and refuses two screenshots with one number. - Publish them: screenshots change with a release version, like the rest of the store page; a prerelease doesn't change it. See Releases.
- The rest of the page: art, text, and details are in Your Store Page.
